This Privacy Policy explains how GXN Services ("Cedar Go", "we", "us") collects, uses, stores, and shares personal data when you use the Cedar Go application, website, and related services in Lebanon. We process data as the operator of the Cedar Go marketplace.

For privacy requests, contact legal@cedarsouq.com. This Policy is available in English and Arabic; the Arabic version prevails in case of conflict.

2. Data we collect

  • Account data: name, phone number, email, optional profile details.
  • Order data: delivery address, items, prices, payment method (including COD), notes, OTP verification status.
  • Location data: GPS or map pin when you select a delivery address, track an order, or enable location features.
  • Device & usage data: app version, device identifiers, IP address, crash logs, interaction events.
  • Communications: support chats, calls, emails, and dispute evidence (including photos).
  • Wallet & loyalty: balance, transactions, rewards where enabled.
  • Guest checkout: limited data required to fulfil a single order.

3. How we use data

  • Create and manage accounts and guest orders
  • Process orders, payments, COD collection, refunds, and wallet credits
  • Coordinate delivery with Vendors and Independent Delivery Partners
  • Send transactional notifications (order status, delivery OTP, support replies)
  • Prevent fraud, secure the Platform, and enforce policies
  • Improve services, analytics, and customer experience
  • Send marketing only with your opt-in consent

4. Legal bases

We rely on contract performance, legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, service improvement), legal obligations (tax and accounting records), and consent where required (e.g., marketing).

5. Location and tracking

We use location to confirm delivery addresses, show nearby stores, estimate delivery times, and display live order tracking when available. You can control location permissions in your device settings; some features may not work without location access.

6. Sharing with third parties

We share data only as needed to operate Cedar Go:

  • Vendors receive order details required to prepare your items.
  • Independent Delivery Partners receive name, phone, address, and order instructions for delivery.
  • Firebase / Google for authentication, push notifications, analytics, and crash reporting where enabled.
  • Google Maps for address search and routing displays.
  • SMS gateways for OTP or transactional SMS when configured.
  • Hosting provider — application infrastructure is operated on servers managed through our hosting partner; primary hosting location is EU/Germany under contract with GXN Services.
  • Authorities when required by law or to protect rights and safety.

We do not sell your personal data.

7. International transfers

Some providers (e.g., Google/Firebase) may process data outside Lebanon with appropriate safeguards as required by applicable law.

8. Retention

  • Active accounts: for the life of the account.
  • Deleted accounts: backup retention up to 12 months, then deletion or anonymisation where possible.
  • Orders and invoices: up to 7 years for legal and accounting purposes.
  • Support records: up to 24 months.
  • Location history: up to 90 days unless longer retention is required for disputes.
  • Delivery proof photos: up to 90 days.

9. Security

We apply administrative, technical, and organisational measures including access controls, encryption in transit where supported, and monitoring. No method is 100% secure; please use strong credentials and report suspicious activity.

10. Your rights

Subject to Lebanese law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection to certain processing. Marketing can be stopped anytime via app settings or by emailing legal@cedarsouq.com. Account deletion is available in-app or via support.

11. Children

Cedar Go is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from users below this age.

12. Cookies and similar technologies

Our website and app may use cookies, local storage, and analytics SDKs to remember preferences and measure performance. See our Cookie Policy where published.

13. Changes

We may update this Policy. Material changes will be posted with a new "Last updated" date.
